Fortney may look good but look past the facade. We can't trust him

In the 2023 Voter Pamphlet, Fortney listed “West Point Leadership” after the U.S. Navy, making it seem like he attended a leadership course at West Point. (You can go on the West Point website where it lists the names of graduates; he is not listed.) What he actually attended was a leadership class using the “West Point Model” in our state. It’s very misleading, not only because the class isn’t named correctly, but because it is listed after the Navy and not after the Academy, which is when he took it (many years after he got out of the Navy).
Since he was in the military, we are confident he knew the difference between that course, and a three-week law-enforcement training titled “Leadership: The West Point Model.”
Another example of lack of integrity.
Here’s the link to the actual class he took (which, by the way, he was made to take after the election in 2019 because he had so little leadership experience).
Also, it doesn't look like he knows the true meaning of community service.....
Corruption is defined as dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power typically related to bribery. Many don't realize that the barber shop that Fortney fought to keep open in Snohomish during the pandemic, through his positional authority had thrown a fundraiser for him at that very location.
"Martin told KING 5's Eric Wilkinson that he was emboldened to fully reopen after Snohomish County Sheriff Adam Fortney announced he would not enforce the governor's stay-home order, calling it "unconstitutional."

Fortney makes frequent false claims, and these are two of his favorites. He continuously berates the previous sheriff for having booking restrictions, so he absolutely won't admit that he had them as well, during COVID. He claims never having ANY booking restrictions, despite doing a press release on it, and claiming no COVID outbreaks, but the medical units were notoriously full in 2020.

“No vaccine, no mask,” Lamb posted on Instagram in 2021. “I did test positive though for Americanitis!”
"Lamb, a frequent guest on Fox News, also has ties to the “constitutional sheriff” movement that propagates the belief that sheriffs are the supreme legal authority in the United States — superseding the federal government and even the president. He is now challenging incumbent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat-turned-independent, for office in Arizona."
"When asked if he agrees with Lamb’s politics, Fortney quickly grew angry.
“You’re talking about (expletive) from three years ago,” Fortney said. “I invited a fellow elected sheriff who I think is doing fantastic things for his community.”
“I don’t want to talk anymore,” he continued. “I’m done. I’m done.”
Fortney then told a Daily Herald reporter to leave his office, declining to comment on any other aspects of his fundraiser, campaign or platform."

Fortney’s record argues against his reelection as sheriff.
"Assaults are up three years in a row and homicides have nearly tripled, according to Snohomish County Sheriff, Adam Fortney, on his own Crime Data Dashboard."
"When you look at his track record, it’s clear that Fortney is neither interested in holding his deputies accountable, nor in enforcing the laws. At a time where police accountability is a very real and serious issue, Adam Fortney has proven that he is not fit to be a leader."

"If he can’t handle an expected question from a reporter without being quick to anger, how can we expect him to handle the stresses and conflicts that face a county sheriff?"
"A composed leader could have answered simply and moved the conversation along. Maybe the stresses of the job have gotten to Fortney."
